PDWC 2025 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE WORLD CONFERENCE AND COMPETITIONの写真

Purpose of the Conference

PDWC (High School Parliamentary Debate World Conference and Competition) is part of the International Friendship Program organized by the WakuPro Foundation. Our aims are to:
1. Foster friendships that serve as a foundation for world peace by allowing Japanese and international high school students to exchange diverse opinions through debate.
2. Introduce and share the history and culture of different regions, promoting mutual respect, understanding, and the enjoyment of diversity.
3. Provide an opportunity for high school students from around the world to learn about Japan and to share Japanese culture and traditions globally.

Participating students can also develop leadership skills by serving as youth ambassadors in the following years.

WakuPro's goal for debate is to provide a platform for discussing various social issues, helping participants develop global communication skills while nurturing the next generation of leaders. By debating with peers, students can connect with friends worldwide and build lifelong friendships. The mentors for the program are from the UK-based Debate Mate organization.
